5 strategies to get the most out of NEW Summit

1. Before registering for NEW Summit and selecting your Learning Sessions, take a few minutes to read Accelerators: Critical Competencies for Women Leaders in Retail and Consumer Goods, which includes the NEW Career Accelerator Model™ that outlines the leadership competencies and derailers that are critical to your career advancement. 

2. Use the NEW Summit Planning Guide to assess your personal leadership strengths and development needs and identify opportunities at the NEW Summit to build your leadership skills and advance your career.

3. Choose the Learning Sessions that address your personal leadership development needs.

4. Practice new behaviors at the NEW Summit.

  • Talk about yourself positively and powerfully. Use your personal branding statement or "elevator speech" as you meet peers and industry leaders.
  • Act as the facilitator at the lunch table; introduce others.
  • Introduce yourself to a senior member of your company. 
  • "Interview" a company colleague or new contact about her work.
  • If you don't usually speak up in a large group, ask a question.

5. Use the power of community to broaden your networks. Use NEW Summit 2015 as an opportunity to deepen relationships with our colleagues; meet suppliers, vendors, customers and others outside your organization; and ask others about their career choices and opportunities to advance your career.
