Robert Solomon Jr.

As the director of talent management at the Network of Executive Women, Robert F. Solomon Jr. designs and implements large- and small-scale initiatives for NEW sponsor companies. The customized solutions allow companies to successfully balance the push/pull of managing the operational components of a business, while developing the critical human capital necessary to thrive in today’s hypercompetitive marketplace. Prior to joining NEW, Solomon was the director of learning and development for CVPH Medical Center, responsible for developing and implementing the learning and leadership development platform for the hospital system. Prior to this role, he designed, managed and facilitated leadership development programs and conducted research for The Executive Leadership Council (ELC). In connection with this work, he regularly coached executives and designed programs for dozens of Fortune 500 companies. Earlier in his career, he was senior project manager at the Center for Creative Leadership, where he was the principal liaison between CCL and several large clients. While at CCL, Solomon contributed to the Leadership Across Differences project and authored articles, including “Understanding Race & Ethnicity from a Global Perspective” and “Coaching for Career Advancement.” He is a  member of the American Sociological Association, Association for Talent Development and Society for Human Resource Management. He has been an instructor for the State University of New York-Plattsburgh’s department of management, international business and information. He earned both bachelor and master degrees in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is finishing his doctorate degree in sociology at George Mason University.
